The Endress+Hauser magazine ‘changes’
The annual company magazine ‘changes’ reveals a clear insight into the exciting world of Endress+Hauser and far beyond.
After the turbulence of the 2009 economic crisis, the skies have cleared with unexpected speed. Whether in terms of sales, profit, equity or employment: in 2010, each and every measurable at Endress+Hauser indicates growth.
Learning from the past is knowledge for the future. The experiences gained in the crisis have taught us to keep rethinking and to reconsider the seemingly obvious – and to ask some fundamental questions. For instance the question of growth, the focus of this new issue of 'changes': where is the boundary between 'sound' and 'unsound' growth? How much growth can the world and the environment take? How does growth relate to progress and innovation? How much growth does an enterprise need?
At Endress+Hauser there is no growth at any price. "Like the trees, we won't grow sky-high", argues CEO Klaus Endress in the 'changes' interview in favor of sustainability. How this can be done is revealed in our article on the French environmental group VINCI Environnement: the eco-balance of their sewage treatment plants not only considers operation, but also construction, dismantling and maintenance. The Swedish mining group Boliden also relies on the careful use of natural resources in copper mining – also due to measurement engineering by Endress+Hauser. Other major features in this issue include our activities in the USA where Endress+Hauser enjoys a great deal of trust and popularity thanks to the happy bond between American and European virtues. And, as always, 'changes' delivers plenty of information on the past financial year and on our expectations for the future.
